These works are inspired by a traumatic relationship that left a deep impression on Clara's personal style. Starting with the Fuck Your Words, these drawings were a form of processing complex emotions about the vulgarity of sex and masculinity and the estrangement of one's own body through sexual encounters. Penises seemed threatening and gross but are rendered comical and innocent in the world of cartoonish figures. Relationships, sex and men keep having an influence on Clara's art since they are some of the most vulnerable spaces where art can help transform negative feelings into something tangible, beautiful or meaningful to the artist.
Clara has always been interested in creating clothes. She likes their functionality and how they interact with context and people. Each piece of clothing will look different depending on who wears it or where it's worn, therefore becoming a more dynamic and shape-shifty form of art. Many pieces of art seem to clutter space, so Clara is drawn to canvases that double as a usable object, making fabrics an interesting medium to translate and host her drawings.
This section consists of smaller drawings created while traveling. Clara spent 2 years traveling South East Asia and Australia between 2024 and 2026. Due to limited resources and tools these drawings are mainly created using a watercolour brush, micromarkers, ballpoint pens or coloured pencils. The drawings range from inspiration found in Buddhist monasteries or Japanese script. She also explored lino print during a short period of this trip that she'd be interested in exploring further. Most drawings are the size of postcards although never used as such. Later on, this format inspired Clara to draw and write postcards dedicated to an unrequited love to process feelings of rejection and loss (see the section "Letters").
Clara started experimenting with negative space and silhouettes in 2024, using stencils and spray paint on canvases and walls. In 2025 this was further explored with linoprint. Finally in 2026 Clara learned screen printing which marks two projects: The Holy Trinity and Chamber of Erection. The Holy Trinity depicts her divorced parents in their 20s when they were still a couple. Especially her dad radiates an atypical youthfulness, being portrayed playfully rolling around in the sand, a scene taken from albums of her parents' first vacation together. Her mother on the other hand is staring seriously into the lens. These prints are overlaid with the repeated picture of Clara crying, which comically was her official passport picture as a child.
The second screen printing project is Chamber of Erection, a wordplay on Mac Demarco's song Chamber of Reflection. In 2026 Clara briefly toured with the band when they performed in Europe. This project is a relic to her time with them, depicting the experience which was sexually charged and fantastically incestual between certain band members. The front of the shirt depicts the pianist of the band sucking Mac Demarco's dick, which is metaphorical to his loyalty to the lead singer whilst abandoning his own goals of creative freedom. Also one of the band members believed in alien conspiracies hence the little guy in the space ship.
In 2026 Clara flew from Austria to Australia for a final four months of traveling before officially ending the trip that she had been on for two years. Before embarking on this final stretch of travels she became heavily entranced by a chef whom she shared two passionate weeks with. This series depicts letters written after her return to Austria when she realized that she had been holding up hopes of reuniting with him whereas his feeling had slowly faded away.
After graduating university and moving back to Vienna, Clara briefly dated an older guy called Wendel who was a professional poker player. This was also the time where she started making art more consistent and eagerly. A lot of pieces from this time are heavily marked by the trauma of dating this man (see the series "dick pics"). Other pieces of writing may or may not be added to this section later on.
Complete collection of works found on this webpage ranging from 2024–2026. Will be used as an archive of all past and future works produced by the artist.
